Winter E. Eaton

Winter Eaton was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Roanoke College in 2020, with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and French, with a concentration in Crime, Deviance, and Social Control. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States. She is also a recipient of the C. William Hill, Jr. Criminal Justice Award, the Patricia M. Gathercole Literature Award, and the Outstanding Student in Crime, Deviance, and Social Control Award. While a student at Roanoke College, Winter interned for the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in Salem, Virginia.

Upon her return to Buffalo, Winter went on to attend the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in June 2023. Throughout law school, Winter spent considerable time studying criminal and family law. Outside of school, Winter interned for the Federal Public Defender's Office in Buffalo and served as a Law Clerk at Harrington & Mahoney prior to becoming an Associate Attorney at the firm following her admission to the New York State Bar in June 2024. 

Winter is currently a member of the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Defenders Association, and New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In addition to her private practice, she also handles criminal matters for the Assigned Counsel Program of Erie County.
