Ian Harrington
Ian Harrington graduated from Fordham University in 1992. He is a cum laude graduate of S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 2009. While in law school Ian concentrated on the study of criminal law, and began working for Harrington & Mahoney as a student law clerk in 2007. He continued as an Associate Attorney with the firm when he was admitted to the bar. As a law student, he interned with Federal Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott in the Western District of New York.
Ian concentrates his practice in criminal defense, including practice in all New York state and federal courts. Ian is currently a member of the Assigned Counsel Program through The Erie County Bar Association Aid to Indigent Prisoners Society, Inc. This program provides legal representation to indigent defendants in state, county and local courts within Erie County.
Between college graduation and entering law school, Ian worked in property management for federal and state low income housing and also in information technology sales. He also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
Ian is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.
He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, The New York State Bar Association, The National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and the New York State Defenders Association.
